At Isana, we know that having an idyllic beach, a fantastic climate and clean comfortable rooms is not always enough. Food can make or break a beach vacation so we try to ensure fine cuisine is served to our guests throughout the day. Naturally, Sri Lankan cuisine features prominently on our menu, either in the form of spicy curries, exotic teas or sweet desserts.
Coconut milk is an essential ingredient as is seafood which comes fresh & daily into our kitchen. However, even the most seasoned traveler grows tired of the native cuisine and pines for something familiar so we also offer western breakfasts, pasta and other Italian food and barbecues. With Japanese design being such an important element of Isana, we will be introducing some of Japan’s finest dishes onto our menu from 2015/16.
Sri Lanka offers abundant fruit from the humble banana to the more exotic rambutan or wood apple. Mangoes and avocadoes are also available when in season and our kitchen finds the freshest and brings them to you in salads and smoothies. Ceylon Tea is justly famous around the world and we try to offer a choice of organic blends, hot & iced and also spicy chai or soothing ginger tea. A fully licensed bar serves up something stronger, and we will try to maintain an adventurous selection of international wines to compliment the dining experience.
